    3. Hi Robby - If you have the entire census sheet, look at the top of the page - it says Warner Home for Boys [line 17-52] As Neysa says, it is the Kurn Hattin homes Here is a website with some information. They are still in operation today. http://www.kurnhattin.org/about/index.html Lisa llepore@comcast.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "Neysa Johnson" <gramneysa@ct.metrocast.net> Could you be looking for the Kurn Hattin home in Westminster VT, a home for boys and girls at risk or in need? I was born in Northern Vermont, and when we moved to Brattleboro in the late 30s I am sure it was in operation. You can find info on google. Neysa -----Original Message----- From: yankeeindixie@bellsouth.net Would anyone know if there was an orphanage or reform school in Rockingham at the time of the 1920 census? I have a census that lists a James H. Capen, age 9, listed along with a large number of other children at one location living with five adults; none of the children having the names of any of the adults. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to track down my Capen relations and this one doesn't fit. Thank you for your time. Robby Robinson An 'old' Yankee in the 'Heart of Dixie'

    3. Thanks for the information.  I wasn't smart enough to read the fine print.  The home was moved to Westminster in 1922, changed the name to Kurn Hattin and started admitting girls.  I found an ancestor of Orrin Prince who was the headmaster of the school in 1920. 3. Glad the info was helpful. Sometimes you have to look at the page before or after to find an address or to find the name of an institution. I wasn't able to tell from your message if you had the entire sheet or just the information about the Capen person, so I looked it up myself to see. This still doesn't answer the question of who the Capen person in this home was..... Hope you find something about that.
