W. Bailey Early Connecticut Marriages, Book 5, p. 21 I have not found a birth record for Ellis Green. She died 28 Jun 1816 at Hampton, Washington, New York. She was supposedly born in Poultney,Rutland, VT. Thaddeus Sheldon and his wife Ellis attended church in Poultney, VT. I found the following references to the activities of Robert Green in Poultney, VT F59.P8J8 A History of the Town of Poultney, VT to 1875 pp.23-24 "The first setlement of Poultney was commenced in `5 Apr 1771. There were several families that season and soon followed by these persons in this order: Icahbod and Joseph Marshall, Silas Howe, Heber Allen, John Grant, Thomas Goodwin, Robert Green, ..." pp. 25-26 Poultney 14 Jun 1773 'We,the subscribers ...covenant...to have our equal part in giving 50 acres of land ... for the settlement of a midwife. ..., Robert Green, ..." pp. 41-42 A List of the Poles and Rateable Estate of Poultney, VT 4 Oct 1871 ... Robert Green 45 pounds, 10 sh." This supports the fact that Robert Green was living in Poultney, VT during the time of Ellis Green's birth. Historical Society, Hartford, CT, Book C, p.562 Oliver Sanford, Jr. was an early and prominent member of the Baptist Church. He was a farmer in Poultney, VT. On 25 May 1795, Oliver and Catherine [Green] Sanford signed a quit claim of all rights in the Susquehannah Purchase which had been willed by her father, Robert Green, to his children. The estate was distributed 29 Aug 1846. If Robert Green was a member of the Baptist Church in Poultney, VT, then any birth records of his children would probably be found there. I have not written a book about Thaddeus Sheldon. That was Ruth Watson of New York City. You might Google her name and see if you can contact her.
