    3. The Vermont Tribune, Ludlow, Friday, January 4, 1889 Weston 1/4/1889 Tom RIDLON, from White River Junction, has been in town for the past few days. Tom said he came up to see if he could get a sleigh-ride, but did not see much prospect of it. Carson PIERCE, the obliging clerk for SPRAGUE & RICHARDSON, was united in marriage, New Years day, with Miss Emma TURNER, daughter of Albert TURNER. The happy couple spent their honeymoon in Boston. We wish them many a "Happy New Year." Mrs. Daniel HANNUM has been on a visit to her daughter, in Somerville, Mass. FOSTER & JAQUITH have been shut down for a week, for repairs. They started up again last Wednesday. Dana BRYANT, we understand, has taken the job to saw FOSTER & JAQUITH's lumber at their mountain mill. Wilson FOSTER has put a steam wood-saw on his wood-lot, and will saw up a lot of wood, this winter. Mrs. A. H. DRURY has gone to Keene, N. H., to visit her daughter. Fred SIMONDS has been looking for his CUMMINGS, for whom he went bail; but he don't Cum worth a cent, and Fred thinks he can find the $100 about as easy. Fred claims that he was given to understand that he would not be held responsible if CUMMINGS did skip. As a bit of sarcasm on our energetic administration of justice, it is told that HART's son will be given $10, CUMMINGS $15, and HART $25, while Mrs. MONTGOMERY, Jess PARKHURST, M. L. SWEETLAND, and others concerned in the detection of the thieves, will be sent to the several State institutions, according to their offenses.
