Mrs. Edward C.Woods of 88 Church street returned yesterday from New Jersey where she visited her husband, First Lieut. Woods, who has been stationed at the Tilton General hospital, Fort Dix. Lieut. Woods was transferred over the week-end to the station hospital at Camp Rucker, Ala. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Shorkey and Mr.and Mrs. Simon LaValley of Watervliet, N.Y., spent the week-end at the home of Mrs. Ida Brunelle of Pine street. Miss Beverly Barker of 34 North street is visiting her sister and brother-in-law, Lieut. and Mrs. W. J. Burke on Cape Cod. Sergt. Frederick A. Martel of Fort Ethan Allen was a week-end visitor at his home on River street. Chief Petty Officer William E. Herrman of Brooklyn, N.Y., who has been a guest of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Quigley of Seabury street, has returned. Mr.and Mrs. Paul W. Whalen and son, Edward, of River street, have returned after spending a week at Lake St. Catherine. Mrs. Frank Nemera and daughter, Alice, of Park avenue have returned home from Washington where they visited Mrs. G. F. Sonnenberg, also a daughter of Mrs. Nemera. They also were guests of friends at Westbury, L.I. Mrs. Wilfred W. Anderson and children, Peter and Polly Jane, of Watkins avenue have gone to Washington to join Mr. Anderson who is employed by the War department. They will make their home in Washington. Misses Alice, Ludwina and Mary Bruten, of River street have gone to Providence, R.I., where they will visit for a week. Mr.and Mrs. P. J. Keefe and son, Bernard, of River street have gone to Boston for a visit. Miss Constant Stewart of Maple street has returned after visiting her sister in Greenfield, Mass. Mr. and Mrs. George Weeden and daughter, Phyllis, have returned to Springfield after spending the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Philip Dashner of Hopkins street. Mr. and Mrs. Delphis J. Frappier of 191 Adams street have returned from Boston where Mrs. Frappier attended the Lahey clinic. Pvt. Raymond C. Miles, who is stationed in New Brunswick, N.J., spent the week- end with friends in Rutland. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Lucas and two children of Howard avenue have returned home after two weeks vacation at Lake Winnepesaukee in New Hampshire. Miss Mary O'Brien of 85 Crescent street has returned after visiting over the week- end at the home of her parents in Castleton. Alphonso Hilliard, who has been the guest of J. R. Hilliard of North Grove street, left yesterday for Dickinson,N.D.His daughter, Mrs. Hugh Walker returned to Oneonta, N.Y. Mr.and Mrs. William Clifford of Dorchester, Mass., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clifford of East street. Mrs. Rena Fish of Bridgeport, Conn., and her daughter, Mrs. Edward Buecher of Stratford, Conn., have returned to their homes after after visiting Mrs. Frederick Stearns of Prospect street.
