    3. The Vermont Tribune, Ludlow, Friday, January 4, 1889 Windsor 1/4/1889 S. S. JUDD has sold his meat business to CHADBOURN & DUNSMOOR of Cornish, N. H., who took possession Dec. 26. Willie UNDERWOOD, sentenced from Windham Co. for two years, at the state prison, recently attempted to commit suicide in his cell by cutting his throat with a shoe-knife. His recovery is probable. Geo. CONNORS of White River Junction was arrested, the other day, and fined $5 and costs; and as he could not find bail, was sent to house fo correction to work out his fine. James PHALAN was also arrested for disorderly conduct, and sentenced to two months at the house of correction; but not being satisfied with the sentence he appealed to County Court, but failed to furnish bail, and was sent to Woodstock, probably for a longer time than to have served his original sentence. Rev. S. S. MARTYN received, among his Christmas presents a barrel of flour, half a pig, a quarter of beef, and a 15-pound turkey, from some of his parisioners; also an easy chair from his bible class.
