    3. Hi, I found that we have two books published by the Oread, both histories of Johnson, in 1907 and 1962. We don't have any other information about the club, but you might try the town web site, which is what comes up when I try to access the Johnson Historical Society. Here is their contact information: Masonic Temple, Main and Pearl Streets, Johnson, VT Mailing Address: PO Box 383, Johnson, VT 05656 Website: www.townofjohnson.com Contact: Linda Jones, president The Johnson Historical Society was established in November 2006. The society plans to provide education about Johnson's history through exhibits, programs, and access to its collections. The society is located on the first floor of the historic Masonic Temple in the center of Johnson Village. 1. [VERMONT] Seeking Polly (Mary?), wife of Samuel Brown, mother of Asahel Brown (Asahel b. 1827 Canada East)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: DanielPBrown Surnames: Brown, Alger Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.vermont.unknown/4911/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am searching for information on Polly (maiden name unknown), wife of Samuel Brown, parents of Asahel Brown. Asahel was born in Canada East in 1827. I believe, based on Asahel's Federal Census answers, that Polly (could be Mary with Polly as a nickname) was born in Vermont somewhere around the turn of the 19th Century. I believe, based on Asahel's Federal Census answers, that Samuel Brown was born in Connecticut somewhere around the turn of the 19th Century, and moved to Canada East where he and his wife had a son, Asahel Brown, born 12 Aug 1827 (or 1828) in Canada East. I don't know if Samuel and Polly married in Canada or elsewhere. I believe that Samuel and Polly may have been living in Lowell, Massachusetts at around 1848 to 1850, based on a marriage record for Asahel Brown, son of Samuel and Polly in 1848 there. Asahel Brown, son of Samuel and Polly Brown, married Lorinda Alger, daughter of Nathaniel and Mary Alger in 1848 in Lowell, Massachusetts. I would like to get birth and family information for Polly and Samuel and to learn what the other members of their family were. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you would like to reply to them, please click on the Message Board URL link above and respond on the board.

    3. Hello, Just checked this "Epidemic Timeline" and it shows different words for explaining "Typhoid Fever." http://hawkshome.net/misc_items/events/epidemic_timeline.htm FYI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhoid_fever http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhus "Bilious Fever" seems to be an "archaic term" http://www.antiquusmorbus.com/English/EnglishB.htm http://www.homemedicine.ca/Articles/Bilious-Fever.html AND, a "sanitorium" is mostly for TB and/or "chronic illness" and/or "rest & relaxation." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanatorium I would think that a "Typhoid hospital" would have to be on an island or in a remote location so everyone residing there could be quartantined (from the general public). Here's an interesting article about the islands in "Long Island Sound" http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=990CE4D7173BF93AA35754C0A963958260&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss There are many web sites which refer to a "Typhoid hospital." But maybe they only existed in major cities around the world. History of "quarantine" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarantine Betty (near Lowell, MA)
