Author: robinvanm Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.vermont.unknown/4935/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for someone to pull paper court records at the Division of Public Records in Middlesex, VT, have the staff make copies of them, and mail the copies to me. There are 9 cases between 1870 and 1880. I received the case citations and decisions from the Superior Court of Windsor, but need the original case records to figure out what happened since the decisions say little or nothing. Got the box numbers for the cases from Middlesex. I contacted two individuals listed on the Vermont Historical Society site, but one can't do it until May and the other doesn't do research anymore. If you're interested, please let me know your fees and when you could do the work. Robin Van Mechelen Bethesda, MD Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He was a brother to Samuel Jones who settled at the center in 1772. He removed from Lebanon to Milton, N. H. Reuben Jones and Mary Nock (Knox) were married in the Second Parish of Berwick 11 Jan 1768. Reuben Jones wa first mentioned in Rev. Isaac Hasey's Diaries, 4 Aug 1773. They lived in Lebanon from 1773 to 1785, but removed from the town before 1790. Mrs. Jones requested prayers on the death of her father, 12 Jan 1777. A child died before 24 May 1778. I looked through some of your other posts concerning this family and it seems that this could be the family you are looking for. However, the dates seem to be a bit off if he was a member of the Vermont conventions in 1776 while his family was still in Lebanon 1773-1784. I believe that he is the son of John and Priscilla (Goodwin) Jones. I do not know who the parents of Mary Knox are however. But perhaps this info. will give you some more to go on. The New England Historical and Genealogical Register 1920 Vol. LXXIV, lists the baptism of a Reuben Jones, the son of John and Priscilla in the Second Church of Berwick, Me. on May 1 1761. Let me know what you think of this and if this could possibly be the family you have been searching for. Can you send me what you have on this line? I would appreciate it. There are some dozen or more Samuel Spear's in the book. I looked at some born about the time you mentioned and did not find a match. I also looked for Jane Bryan and did not find any listing for her. Sorry.
