The Ballard name was used as a given name in later Blagrave generations. Since Matthew Ballard gave clothing to his brothers as well as to Henry Blackgrove, could Henry have been married to a sister of Matthew Ballard, and therefore be Matthew's brother-in-law? Need help! I have several questions about counties, cities and parishes... Any and all replies are welcome to help me figure this out. I have a line I have been tracing, which seems to have started in James City, (Lawnes creek parish) Virginia. I need to know what counties were formed from James City and where is Surrey Co and York Co located and when were they formed from what other counties etc. Someone just feel free to give me a history lesson. One more, where was Hog (Hogg) Island located and what counties were included in it? I need information from 1600's to 1770/ during that time line. Thanks ahead of time for any info.
