In 1756, THOMAS MOUNTFORT appointed his son Joseph MOUNTFORT as the Executor of his Will, and desired that his two friends Mr. EDWARD CROSS and Mr Thomas Pescott, one or both, should be Guardian to son Joseph until he arrived to the age of twenty one years. Does anyone have knowledge of Edward Cross and what his relationship to the Mountfort family was? Also, did this Edward Cross have children? I am searching for my gggg-grandfather, Edward Cross, b. abt. 1780 somewhere in Virginia. My failure to find proof documents of his existence in Va. has led me to this process of elimination. Any help is appreciated.
