Happy New Year Everyone! I have made some significant updates to the 48th Virginia web site at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~vascott/48th/index48.htm The 48th was recruited from Lee, Russell, Scott, Smyth, and Washington counties. Letters, photographs, family histories, and other pieces of information have been added. Please drop by and take a look. If you have any items you would like to include, send them along to me and I'll be happy to add them. If you are a contributor, please make sure that the information is accurate and the links working. Get back to me with any changes. Also, my wife is beginning her research to complete the last step in obtaining her Master Teacher certification from the American Needlepoint Guild. She would like to do it on Civil War era quilts from the SW Virginia/East Tennessee/Kentucky area. Information seems to be sparse. She is particularly interested in any diaries by women that mention quilting or needlework. If anyone can provide any leads, she would be most appreciative. She can be reached at [email protected] Have a great January 1. Regards, Vernard Bond
