Hi Martha, Good explanation of Osborn's Gap. John Wes Swindall was my gggrandfather also, as well as Eli Vanover(ggrandfather). They and their families went through Osborn Gap to Kentucky for the duration of the Civil War after the Battle of Crane's Nest. Is there any info or legends in your family about how they survived or who they lived with in Kentucky? Would you or any of the family have a picture of Martha Swindall, John's daughter? She married Daniel Alvin Dotson of Pound and was my ggrandmother. Hope this helps answer your question of where Osborns Gap is located and also gives you a feel for the community. > Martha > > Angelfire for your free web-based e-mail. http://www.angelfire.com > > ==== VAWISE Mailing List ==== > Remember: All posts go back to the list.
