Don't know if they allow inquiries via the Mail, and if not, then I need the name of person or organization who would look up some records on family members, as well as their fees for such. Attached lisitings to start out with: Am interested in locating information as to the following who resided in Letcher Co, Ky. (Jenkins-McRoberts area): 1. Virginia Belle (Lyburn) Gilley, married to James Shaler Gilley - the latter was a coal miner for Consolidated and died 12-23-40, and buried in Whitesburg, KY. . Virginia supposedly died a few years following the birth of James Langley Gilley (my father) when the family lived in Richlands, Va, and subsequently moved to Letcher Co, Ky. 2. Edward Gilley was a brother to my father-James Langley. Don't know if he was born before or after James Langley, but died in early infancy. 3. Only recently learned by way of death cert. that James Shaler Gilley - my g/father - remarried to Clarice Gilley, who was age 27 at the time of his death in 1940. Await a Death Cert. on Clarice P. Gilley of Jefferson Co, Ky to see if one and the same. Preliminary info to effect she died in 1973 at age 60. 4. Tayler Gilley, born in Lee Co., Va., was married to Polly Bolling of Letcher Co, Ky, who were the parents of James Shaler Gilley, the latter born in 1880. 5. Family lived also in Stonega, Va. in or about 1908. Have drawn a complete blank on any information about Va. Belle (Lyburn) Gilley, & Edward Gilley, from Virginia or Ky. In addition, would like some info. on Clarice Gilley, Tayler Gilley and Polly Bolling. This is my first try at this Geneology bit, and appreciate any assist along the way. Keep the faith, and Peace.
