    3. NEWS FROM DICKENSON COUNTY, VA IN 1890S, name of newspaper unknown. FAR SOUTH WEST - VERY MUCH MARRIED Dwale, Dickenson Co., VA - Nov. 18 - Your correspondent learns that George Isaccs , aged 71 years, who, it is charged , has seven living wives in Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, and Ohio, eloped from Beaver Floyd County, Kentucky, Tuesday, with a pretty widow. Soon after arriving at that place , it is said, he learned that the officials were looking after him, and he skipped, taking the woman with him. He married Mrs. Liza Polly, a widow of Sergent, Letcher County, and after living with her three months, he deserted her, going to Beaver, where he made his seventh matrimonial venture. Isaacs is hale and hearty, and can walk forty of fifty miles a day over rough mountain roads. Clintwood, Va.., Oct. 21 - Last night there were 16 gallons of brandy stolen from Owen's distillery about two miles below town. The "_____ over joyful" was left at the distillery in a barrel, and as there was no enclosure around it there was nothing to prevent it from being stolen. There is some talk of the race for the clerkship of this county, but it is not definitely know who will be the candidate but looks at present as if Ira VANOVER and Joshua Counts are to be. Mr. P. S. Phipps left here yesterday to attend a medical school at Richmond. Mr. Phipps is an exemplary young man and we bespeak for his success in his enterprise.
