    3. Diana, I think our two families are very likely linked. Let me know what you think of all this. (My mother's first husband (my brother's father) was a Boggs; I may have to look into that Wise County line at another time.) First, here's what I have: Descendants of Samuel Craft Generation No. 1 1. SAMUEL1 CRAFT was born in KY. He married CLARA DEAN CHISENHALL. Child of SAMUEL CRAFT and CLARA CHISENHALL is: 2. i. ISAAC SAMUEL2 CRAFT, b. Abt. 1885, Wise County, VA; d. December 16, 1949, Wise County, VA. Generation No. 2 2. ISAAC SAMUEL2 CRAFT (SAMUEL1) was born Abt. 1885 in Wise County, VA, and died December 16, 1949 in Wise County, VA. He married (1) SAVANNA WHEATLEY. He married (2) ROSA T.. Children of ISAAC CRAFT and SAVANNA WHEATLEY are: i. ETHEL3 CRAFT, b. September 04, 1913, Dorchester, Wise County, VA; d. December 08, 1984, Henrico County; m. TROY PALMER CASTLE, September 15, 1929, Dunbar, Wise County, VA. ii. OSCAR CRAFT, m. EMMA CASTLE, June 17, 1929, Wise County, VA. iii. BRUCE CRAFT. iv. PEARL CRAFT, m. WELLS. ---------------------------------------- Next, another researcher (Martha Short) was kind enough to pass on some Wise County census findings to me, and when I combine your partial family and mine, it looks like a match: The family of Samuel C. Craft is listed in the 1880 Wise Co., VA Census (transcribed by Rhonda Roberson) as follows: Samuel C. Craft, white, male, age 24, K, K, K* Clerinda, female, age 22, V, K, V James H., son, age 8, V, K, V Isaac S., son, age 6, V, K, V Nancy J., dau, age 4, V, K, V Mary M., dau, age 2, V, K, V *place of birth of person, of father, of mother K=Kentucky, V=Virginia living next door to Samuel and Clerinda are James and Nancy Chisenhall who appear to be the right age to be Clerinda's parents. They are listed as follows: James Chisenhall, white, male, age 57, V, V, V Nancy, female, age 52, V, V, V Annie, dau, age 21, V, V, V Harrison, son, age 18, V, V, V Malissa C., dau, age 13, V, V, V Living on the other side of Samuel and Clerinda are Francis Chisenhall, white, male, age 25, V, V, V and Sarah A., female, age 20, V, V, V A note says that Francis and Sarah were married within the year. These are the only two Chisenhalls listed in the 1880 Wise Co., Census. No other Craft households are listed near Samuel and Clerinda. In the 1860 Wise Co., Census (transcribed by Rhonda Roberson) the following Craft household is listed: David K. Craft, age 23, born in KY Sarah, age 22, born in KY Henry, age 2, born in KY Samuel, age 7 mo., born in VA >From the Wise County, VA Death Register 1856-1894 (transcribed by Rhonda Robertson) comes the following: Martin Chisenhall age 2 mo 2 day, died Nov. 11, 1857 son of James and Nancy Chisenhall. Mallisa Gardner age 19, died Nov. 10, 1886 of fever, dau of James & Nancy Chisenhall, wife of James F. Gardner. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Wednesday, December 23, 1998 10:33 PM Subject: Re: [VAWISE-L] Craft and Wheatley >Nicole, >My paternal G grfather, John L.
