Looking for names of Tribes known to have inhabited and hunted in the Western Parts of Va., 1700-1800's. Back then a Confederacy of Six Nations stormed down and chased the Cherokees from where they inhabited and turned the areas into hunting grounds thereafter. Shawnees were chased off by the Cherokees as were the Xulans. What Tribes made up the Confederacy of Six Nations? Who were the Xulans? The Algonquins were in Wythe, Webster and adjoining counties, however, question is whether they were further West in Va.
