According to Civil War Records at the National Archives, Harvey Jones (son of James V. Jones and Sarah Elizabeth Ramsey) enlisted in the 64th Virginia Infantry, Co. H on August 18, 1862, in Wise, Virginia at age 18. He was taken prisoner of war September 9, 1863, at Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. He was sent to Camp Douglas in Chicago, Illinois on September 24, 1863, where he was held until he died February 14, 1864 from inflamation of the lungs. Harvey is buried in grave 1012 in the Chicago City Cemetery.
