Do not repeat a story printed in Volume II. If you were a child or grandchild mentioned in a previous write-up you can submit a new story and photo. Do include new information, or write about someone not included in Volume I. Here's Our Suggestion: You and your family are important to the history of Wise County and the City of Norton. You are cordially invited to submit your family's article for publication in Volume II. This is a second chance for those who missed getting an article in Volume I. Stories of 500 words and one picture will be printed FREE for each household. Deadline for receipt of these stories is October 1, 1998. Directions (1) Stories can be submitted either handwritten or typed with name and address, telephone and e-mail address of submitter. If members of your family have left Wise County, please contact them for their story. (2) It is best to submit black and white=20 photos; however, we will accept 35mm color or studio quality color prints. NO XEROXES OF FADED POLAROID WILL BE PRINTED. Please keep in mind the reprinted photo for the book will only be as good as the original. Identify your photos with a return address label, or print lightly on the back, including phone number/e-mail address. We will make every effort to return your photo, but ask that you DO NOT SEND ANY irreplaceable ones. Please have glossy prints made, and submit one of those. All photos will be 1 column width. We need you to write a concise caption for each photograph and attach at the bottom of the last page of your story. (3) Enclose a stamped, self- addressed envelope for return pictures. Please make certain your envelope fits your picture, and that you include enough return postage! (4) In addition to the free 500 word story and one free photo, extra space is available in the book: 10 cents for each additional word, $12.50 for each additional photo.
