From Whitesburg, go across Pine Mountain on 119. Turn left on hwy 932 which is close to oven fork Baptist church. (Go about 2 miles) Turn Right on Roberts Branch Road (hwy 3405) Go about 1/2 mile or so. Cemetery is on left up a steep grade. You almost can not see it from the road. The cemetery is in practically on the Ky/VA line in Letcher Co. My great grandparents (Bertie Sturgill & Charles Mullins), gg-granparents (Leah Bolling & James Sturgill), and ggg-grandparents (Lucinda & David Sturgill) are buried there. Don't know if there are any Maggards buried there or not. Which Maggard line are you looking for? Joel

I have information on the Lewis ROBERTS family and they married into MAGGARD family who were in ?Breathitt Co area of KY, then moved to Letcher Co, KY then to Wise Co vA area. This Lewis was of the Jesse ROBERTS family of Clay Co, however, have impression that this Jesse ROBERTS was related to the Shadrack ROBERTS family who lived in Wise Co area. I have 2 different VANCE families I am trying to trace and am still searching! They were in Russell, Wise, Buchanan, Dickenson, Counties, VA. and Wayne Co. WVA.... FIRST: is John Vance, son of David Vance and Elizabeth Rose, born 1843, died 1903, buried in Yates Cemetery, Caney Ridge, Dickenson County. He married first Nancy Blair ( and later Nancy Osborne, and Emmy Perry/ not confirmed) .......I am particulary interested in these 5 sons.........who seemed to fall from the face of the earth John ca 1864, Andrew ca 1866, George W ca 1869, Alexander ca 1872, and David ca 1874...........Anyone have information on these 5 sons, or descendants????? Also interested in Nancy Blair Vance, believed to have died in Imboden, VA in the 1930's. SECOND: is Alexander Vance born 1849 Wise Co., son of Absolem & Nancy Vance. He married Ida Blair (b. 1871) in Wayne Co. West VA. They had 2 children, possibly more, Rosa B. born 4 /1891, and Rosco born, 2/1895.
