    2. Faded Genes
    3. This virus is not being targeted deliberately at the Wise County list. The BadTrans virus is all over the place right now. I have read at least 500 messages about this virus in the past 10 days. A good AV program, caution when opening attachments, and if you are on cable modem, a personal firewall should take care of you. I've lost track of the number of viruses that have been received by my computer, but have not been infected by any. Like anything else in today's world, be careful, use precautions, but don't let paranoia ruin your enjoyment. 2. Faded Genes
    3. The virus called BadTrans replies to all the unopened email on the infected computer. If the attachments had the extension .pif or if the last line of the email itself says "Look to the attachment" DO NOT OPEN IT. Rootsweb has a very good virus discussion list: virus-discussion-l-request@rootsweb.com. You subscribe the same way as any other roots web list. 3. Billy I'm almost afraid to come back to the net after all these virus messages. I have McAfee and have not detected anything----yet. Anyway, I am looking for my whole Willis line but my direct blood (DNA) line is: Grandfather Owen Hezekiah Willis b.1875 d.1929 m Darthula Tate b.1876 d.1950 G Grandfather Corporal John B Willis b.1839 d.? m Eveline / Elizabeth / Lina Smith b. abt 1844 d ? G G Grandfather Isaac Willis b.1804 d.1888 m Elizabeth Gilley b.1810 d.1884 G G G Grandfather Abner (Absolom)Willis b.abt 1775 d. ? m Eve Sifert b.abt 1780 d.abt 1873 As far as I can tell, all died in Lee/Wise Co. I attended the funeral for Darthula in 1950, but was only 11 at the time and can't remember where the cementery was. THANK YOU BILLY AND ALL OF YOU ON THE LIST FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE ON MY SEARCH. 3. I got the kak.worm from a message posted on the Washington Co., TN list. It wasn't in an attachment. It was in the email and and when I opened the email, it got me. My Norton antivirus caught it but it couldn't get rid of it. Fortunately I was using Netscape and by using Norton's, instructions, I was able to get rid of it. If I had been using Outlook, it would have been more complicated. I have been very careful about opening attachments, and delete them if I don't know what they are, but now I am concerned about opening any email.
