Thought everybody could use a good laugh on me.... I changed address a few weeks ago and since then I have also moved my website. Couldn't understand why I was getting all these messages from folks searching the surname WISE.....doesn't anybody other than Wise's live in Wise County? Then I stopped to really look at it. I had forgotten when I resubed to put the VA in front of Wise so I was on the wrong list..........I am not a blond......so I guess we can sum it up as old age creeping up on me or.....I'm just that dumb hillbilly, However , I am still proud to be one.

The Wise County Historical Society is sponsoring the publication of a book on Wise County's Civil War soldiers, both Union and Confederate by myself and Lil Gobble. The proceeds from the sale of the book will be used to mark the graves of Civil War soldiers. Lil and I are visiting all the cemeteries in Wise County to locate the burial sites, we are preparing write-ups and attempting to locate photos of each of the men. We need your help...there is a James Collins, buried in the Wells Cemetery in Esserville, near Norton. He was born September 1, 1826 and died April 1, 1898. Hi, The book has all been sent to press. We are currently still talking pre press orders at $53 plus shipping. Book is scheduled to be out in October...'if the creek does not rise and even if it does.' It has over a 1000 pages, has Emory Hamilton's work, Ed Henson, Adams, and a lot of work that has never been published in addition to the family histories.
