My Thomas Smith of Loudoun Co., VA d.1798-1800 at the home of his son in Rockingham Co., NC. Thomas' wife Elizabeth (pos. WITT) d.abt 1810 in NC. They had 5 known Children: (1)Zachariah md Frances MOORE; (2)Drury SMITH d.1822 Rockingham Co.,NC md 1st Betsy VAUGHAN md 2nd Nelly SMITH 1797 Stokes Co.,NC, had 16 children; (3) my Mary md my John JARNAGIN and both are buried in Highland Co.,OH; (4) Phebe md Littleberry MAYS a Rev. War soldier from Henry Co.,VA & 2nd md 1800 John Joyce POSSUM; and (5)Elizabeth SMITH md Sherrod MAYS 1773 Guilford Co.,NC died in Grainger Co.,TN. I know my Thomas & Elizabeth SMITH lived in Loudoun Co., VA but I only suspected they came from Westmoreland Co., VA because some of my lines that married into the Smith line (GROVE, STAPLETON, LAMBERT, SEARLES, SOUTH, THOMPSON, OMOHUNDRO, MOXLEY, & etc;) came from the Fairfax & Westmoreland Co., VA areas. Does anyone know which SMITH family I could belong to? There was a Joseph who died 1699 in Middlesex Co., VA who had a son Thomas, Samuel (d.5 May 1687 Middlesex), John, and Alexander. Could my Thomas SMITH be connected to this Middlesex Co., VA SMITH family?
