One of the reason I ask is I have a book titled, Westmoreland County Virginia 1653-1983, that was edited by Walter Biscoe Norris Jr., Copyright 1983. The Library of Congress Catalog no. is 83-050915. It has a lot of general information about Westmoreland Co. For those interested, about 1/4 of the book deals with military history for Westmoreland Co. The military history includes chapters with compilation of names of Westmorelanders who served in the War for Independence, the War of 1812, the Civil War. Also included are appendices for various public officials of Westmoreland at various times. FWIW: There is a newer edition of this book that's been published (1989 I believe.) The Colonial Beach Branch of The Central Rappahannock Regional Library has a reference copy of the older edition (Reference 975.523 WE). -- William G. Thompson
