Hi, First time: My information I got from Norma Tucker's book, "Colonial Virginians and their Mryland Relatives". My Col. George THOMPSON b.1603 in Hertfordshire, England-d.1690 in England. He went to VA in 1623, then he was in Maryland in 1637, then returned to England in 1640s. In 1650 George was back in Northumberland Co.,VA. In 1656 George was in Westmoeland Co.,VA where I think he remained until in his old age he returned to England where his will mentioned my ancestors-Col. George THOMPSON'S grandchildren: John SOUTH, Richard SOUTH, Elizabeth SOUTH, and George SOUTH. George's brothers Maurice (Morris) THOMPSON, William THOMPSON, Major Robert THOMPSON, and Paul THOMPSON all lived in Virginia and had families. Is there anyone working on these THOMPSONS?
