Presently I am a student at Radford Unviversity in Southwest Virginia. I will be studying abroad in Sweden in 2000. My main interest in Sweden stems from my family who I can trace back there. My great great grandfather, John Alfred Carlson came here as a teenager on a boat and landed in Reedville. I have been told that originally in Sweden, the name was spelled Carlsson. From there he worked his way to Westmoreland County. I am not sure when he was born, but do know that he died around 1933. Could you assist me or lead me to the proper place to do some research on how to locate more information on this man? Perhaps the best place to look is the county courthouse.
