    1. [VAWESTMO-L] 1720 Reconstructed Census
    2. Granny4you
    3. Hello all, We have just joined your mailing lists and have obtained a copy of a reconstructed Census for 1720. We will look up your names for free. The granny's are a group of ladies, and some gentlemen now, that do research at the National Archives for people. They also go to the Denver Library which is rated the 5th best Genealogy library in the country. It has a section for every State in the Union and lots of National Publications. If your needing things looked up, give me an E-mail. Most things cost less than $4.00. With permission from our requestors, the information obtained for people will be shared with anyone interested in the surname to the mailing lists. Sincerely, Jim (for the Granny's)

    1. [VAWESTMO-L] JENKINS, David
    2. Jill Smith
    3. Hi List, I am trying to locate descendants of a David JENKINS born Glamorgan, Wales c1865, became a Warp Dresser in weaving industry in Bradford, Yorkshire, England in 1870-1880s. He migrated to America sometime in 1880s, and we ** think** settled in either North or South Carolina. This is because we have a 1920s photo of him with son, Tom, and David is sitting on front bumper of a car whose registration plate is obscured and shows only the last letters --- INA. Son Tom had a son, David, born 1925. So far I've had no luck following up on SSDI entries for David or Tom, or in the 1920 Census .... only likely entry for a Thomas Jenkins said his parents were born in America. Can anyone help? -- Jill Smith on the beautiful North Coast of NSW Australia ** Genealogists live in the past lane **

I know my Thomas & Elizabeth SMITH lived in Loudoun Co., VA but I only suspected they came from Westmoreland Co., VA because some of my lines that married into the Smith line (GROVE, STAPLETON, LAMBERT, SEARLES, SOUTH, THOMPSON, OMOHUNDRO, MOXLEY, & etc;) came from the Fairfax & Westmoreland Co., VA areas. Does anyone know which SMITH family I could belong to? There was a Joseph who died 1699 in Middlesex Co., VA who had a son Thomas, Samuel (d.5 May 1687 Middlesex), John, and Alexander. Could my Thomas SMITH be connected to this Middlesex Co., VA SMITH family?

My Thomas STAPLETON (d.1771 Loudoun Co., VA) I believe married his wife Elizabeth LAMBERT (dau. of Thomas LAMBERT d.1747 in Westmoreland Co., VA & Joan SOUTH, dau. of George & Isabell SOUTH) in Westmoreland Co., VA but I don't have any evidence of where they were married. 3. Subject: Carlson Date: Sun, 22 Feb 1998 21:21:48 -0500 (EST) From: David C Bryant Jr <dcbryant@runet.edu> My name is David Bryant and I am from the Northern Neck. Presently I am a student at Radford Unviversity in Southwest Virginia. I will be studying abroad in Sweden in 2000. My main interest in Sweden stems from my family who I can trace back there. My great great grandfather, John Alfred Carlson came here as a teenager on a boat and landed in Reedville. I have been told that originally in Sweden, the name was spelled Carlsson. From there he worked his way to Westmoreland County. I am not sure when he was born, but do know that he died around 1933. Could you assist me or lead me to the proper place to do some research on how to locate more information on this man? Perhaps the best place to look is the county courthouse. If so, are there files on the available by internet? You help is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, David C. Bryant, Jr. ******************** Good luck in your quest, Yvonne, List Administrator ****** God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December.
