Surnames: Coffman, Hawkins Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GBC.2ACE/452 Message Board Post: I am looking for ancestors and descendants of William Coffman (b. 1830 in Va.) and Emma Ann Hawkins (b. 1835 in Richmond), my great-grandparents. They married in Abingdon in 1852 and moved shortly thereafter to Tennessee. Her parents were Mary Young West and William Hawkins, a coach trimmer. They were Baptists. My goal is to find William's birthplace and his parents' names. All I know is that his father was born in Pa. and his mother was named Mary (perhaps Grant was her maiden name) and was born in Va. William was a tinner and was orphaned at age 13. At that time he was living in Roanoke County. Thanks, Sue Coffman
