My Great Great Grandad's name was Martin Van Buren Davis born between 1862-1865 his nicknames were Mark, Matt or Mart. He had one brother named Alex(Alexander?) Davis born between 1858-1860. I looked thru the 1860 census and I noticed James R. Davis and his wife Elizabeth I noticed among their chidren there was listed one Male 3 month old child named Alexander. I was wondering if anyone would know if they had another son a few years later named Martin V. Davis? If so then James and Elizabeth may be my Great Great Great grandparents. Here's some info on Martin He lived in Rogersville(Hawkins county)Tennessee and also in Greeneville,TN. He married Martha Matilda Jones on May 9, 1886 in Greeneville, Tennessee. Martin may have been in the 1870-1880 Washington Co.,Virginia census. The post office listed for the Western District was in Mendota,Va. Thank you
