    3. Hoping some one can help fill in a hole in my TOMLINSON line. Looking for a marriage record for the yet unnamed eldest son of Thomas and Rebecca CAYLOR TOMLINSON. In the 1820 Washington Co. Census, Thomas Tomlinson has one son under 5. By the 1830 Washington Co. Census, Thomas Tomlinson has 1 male 10-15, 2 females 6-10, 2 males under 5. Some time between the 1840 and 1850 census' Thomas moves his family to Smyth Co., VA. The eldest son is no longer living with them at this time. I have found 2 possible males in the 1850 Washington Co. Census which could be the eldest son. First is William TOMLINSON living in the HH of Sarah EDMONDSON. Possibly married to one of the daughters. The penmanship was impossible to read but the daughter could be (Maitstill?). By 1860 census Maitstill? is listed as Ann. Could someone lookup a married between William TOMLINSON and Maitstill? Ann EDMONDSON? Marriage is cir. 1847-1850. The second could be Josiah/Joseph (once again the penmanship is awful) TOMLINSON living in the HH with James TOMLINSON in the 1850 census. Josiah is listed as 18 so would be too young to be the one I am looking for but the age could be off. If this Josiah/Joseph is the son of Thomas then he is living with his uncle James who is Thomas' brother. Is there a marriage record for Josiah or Joseph TOMLINSON between 1850 and 1860? I am hoping a marriage record will list the parents names. TIA, Corinne
