While searching for William MARKLAND through the Washington County, VA deed index, I browsed through the B listings and found a deed listed for Charles BASSENDINE from John COLEY & wife in Deed Book 2 pg. 46[?]. It did not give the year (or I didn't write it down) but I have ordered the film. My question is has anyone else run into this name or surname, Charles BASSENDINE, in the late 1700's early 1800's? It is the same name as my great-great great-grandfather and as that name is extremely hard to come by and Washington County is relatively close to what is now Carter County, TN, I thought it might be worth a hard look.
