Va Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Va/Washington/10287 Surname: JOHNSON, LINDSEY ------------------------- Tina, I have ggg grandparents, Thomas H. JOHNSON and Elizabeth LINDSEY of Johnson Co. TN. From 1840 census, they have a male child born 1821-1825. I am not sure about Thomas H. Johnsons parents, but he was b. MD, and has possible connections to Saltville area. Elizabeth was born in Washington Co. VA d/o Moses LINDSEY and Catharine MYERS / MIRES. This is what I have so far. I descend through their daughter Barbara. Barbara had two brothers who went with her husband, David Lindsey, to fight in the War with Mexico (1845). I haven't researched these military records yet, but that could be a way to find more about Benjamin. Sounds like Benjamin may have a Civil War story too. Thomas H. was a Confederate sympathizer and was killed by Stoneman's troops at the very end of the Civil War, at age 78. There were lots of Johnson's, so its a little like a needle in a haystack. By the way, Johnson Co. TN was named for another Thomas Johnson, different guy, had us confused for a while.
