He had a Loyal Company Grant on the South side of the Clinch River along with Abraham McClelland in 1774. He is listed as Constable from Castles Woods as high as Glade Hollow in 1770. He sent a claim on KY land with Boone. Richard Wharton, Clark Co., KY married Mary McClellen who was raised by her mother's brother William Scott. Believe James may be father of Richard. Need proof.
