Anyway, I'm sorry to say that I don't have any other information than what I posted about George Bowles and his wife Martha A. Merritt. I have hit a brick wall with these folks. Their marriage record (1-29-1867) in Washington Co. states that George was born in Pittsylvania Co., VA. I can find nothing on him or his family there. Sorry I can't be of more help. Cindy
