Billy, That's really interesting, the will of Samuel Kelly written before going off to war. I wonder if that was common practice for the many militia guys. My ggg grandfather Moses Lindsey and his brother John, both left for Alabama in Oct 1813 with E. Tennessee militia out of Knoxville. They both were married about 3 weeks before they left for war. They later re-enlisted in Abraham Fulkersons regiment 5th VA militia. Wonder if either Moses or John Lindsey left a will. Moses came back, but John didn't.
