Tom Edmondson has done a lot of work on this line. He gave me the picture of George and the following. "He lived in Kentucky for 5 Years prior to moving to San Saba County, Texas in 1903. They bought a place in the Pecan Grove Community and went into the fur and hide business. His place was just across the Pecan Grove bridge on the San Saba River where he raised skunks and Jerusalem artichokes. It was said that even though he bathed regularly, he always carried the faint scent of skunk. If he paid someone with a check and the teller did not know the bearer he would sniff the check and say "Yep, that's George's check, alright." Eight of his children followed them to Texas. Source is an article written by Lillian Hunt Edmondson in the History of San Saba. He is listed in the 1860 Claiborne County, Tennessee census as the 10 year old son of Elijah and Catherine Edmondson."
