Gordon, Mary, and other HAMILTON researchers, If you have any LINDSEY/AY in your data base could you please contact me. My gg grandfather is supposedly named James Alexander Hamilton LINDSEY, and I have no idea where the Hamilton came from, unless he was named for the Alexander Hamilton on the $20 bill (no relation, I've checked it out). My SW Virginia ancestors were more likely to have named a son after Thomas Jefferson, rather than his Federalist opponent, first US secretary of the Treasury, who championed Northern industrialism and was killed in a dual. Anyway, there is a slight chance there may be a HAMILTON in our family sometime before 1850. Just sending this out in case anyone knows more.
