First time asking at this site. I'm trying to find a birth record in this county for Samuel SWEARINGEN b. 1812; he's later living in Pendleton Co.[1850] and Barbour Co., WV [1860]. It is on the 1850 he states Washington is his county of birth. Samuel d. in 1883 in MO. Can someone suggest a few sources for research for Washington County, VA for this era?
