It is believed that his name was Jacob, but so far no one has proved this. Sheila Anderson thinks that the DeBusk name is German. It appears that they were close to the other Germans in Washington County, Virginia. The case she is building is good. I still wonder if they were French that fled to one of the German princedoms where they became friend with the German like Rouse, Widener, Cook. I cant tell you why i hang on to the thought that we are French. The bottom line is that my book goes back to Elijah DeBusk and Catherine Rouse. I included some of the old stories, but no proof. I would like to get more on your line. I also descend from Andrew Edmondson and Susan DeBusk through their daughter Martha Edmondson who married Elias DeBusk (first cousins) down through their son William Andrew DeBusk and Martha Jane McAbee through James Jackson DeBusk and Lucy Ann Aynes through my mother Sarah May DeBusk who married Charlie Lee Patterson down to me.
