With all this talk of Rev. War Soldiers, I thought I might take this opportunity to check out a possible ancestor, John William (Albert) Johnson. He was apparently indentured to a gentleman in Pennsylvania to pay for his passage to America, then was "recruited" to fight for the British in the Rev. War, he deserted the Brits, changed his name from Albert to Johns(t)on, and joined up with the Colonists. His descendants show up in Washington Co., VA. I got all this information from other Johns(t)on researchers on the internet. Does this sound familiar to anyone or has anyone seen his name on any war rolls? Gerri
