I haven't seen his name but I wonder if someting similar happed to my ancestor, William Dunn, who appears in Washington County, VA about 1788 seems to have no existence prior to this. Family tradition says he came to America at the start of the war and soon participated in the conflict. We have found no documentation of his passage or involvement in the war. Have you heard of this name change happening to others? ----- Original Message ----- From: <Whirledppp@aol.com> To: <VAWASHIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 17, 2001 9:20 AM Subject: [VAWASHIN] Revolutionary War > > With all this talk of Rev.
