    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: HOPKINS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GBC.2ACE/10.72.83 Message Board Post: June: I am also researching this line, although the current information does not indicate a connection between this line and mine that came from Patrick County, VA in 1822. Interestingly, Frances Hopkins apparently was hanged as a horse thief, but may also have been hanged as a Tory. However, his son Gardner was a Revolutionary War hero in New York and was paid with land grants in the former Floyd County, KY areas now known as Pike and Morgan Counties. In fact, my family still lives on Gardner Fork (which was named for him) in Pike County. Gardner is buried in Morgan County. In addition, I may have information on the Lewis line that may be of interest. If you like, e-mail me directly at bhopkins@eastky.net. Bruce Hopkins
