After his marriage abt. 1880 he moved across the road to Old Brook Hall, a log house built in the late 18th century by Colonel James Dysart, a prominent figure in this section of Virginia during the Revolution. It was named for Colonel Dysart's home in Ireland. ( Dysart was probably Scotch as he was a member of the Ebbing Spring Presbyterian Church ) After his children had grown and prior to removing to Arkansas, he built a home near Brook Hall, named "Sunnyside". After his wife's death on October 06, 1901 in Imboden, Arkansas, he returned first to West Virginia, then to Richmond, Virginia, until his death July 15, 1917. Thought you might find this interesting.
