Does anyone know anything about the ease of acquiring vital records (from either of the below listed offices)? Washington County Vital Records Office http://www.vitalrec.com/vacounties17.html#Washington Office of Vital Records, Richmond http://www.vitalrec.com/va.html I believe I've heard that much of Washington County's vital record information was destroyed in some kind of a fire. Does anyone know (1) if this is true (2) if it is true, what the extent of the damage was? Is it worth requesting a document or do they simply not exist? Thanks in advance for any information!
