Does anyone have access to a printed index for the 1880 census of Washington County? I am looking for a Robert Scott, 78 years old, who was living in someone else's household. He was the son of William Scott, who died in Washington County in 1803. I seem to have been given inaccurate information about the household in which Robert was living in 1880. Then I looked at the 1880 soundex film at my local branch of the National Archives but could not find Robert, perhaps because he was not a head of household. I would be very grateful for some help. Hi Dwight, I haven't seen a response to your question so am assuming you haven't received one yet. I have a published version of the 1880 census from Washington County, VA (Transcribed, annotated and edited by Jack Hockett & Sheila Steele Hunt, 1998) Your Robert Scott, age 78, shows up on page 26, in the George Hagy household. The exact entry is as follows: 156/156 HAGY, George, 25; Malinda, 23; William 3/12, Feb; Andy, 25 (no relationship stated); Louise, 16 (wife); SCOTT, Robert, 78 (boarder); John W.., 11 (boarder) Hope this helps, Linda Bailey dwimarsco1@aol.com wrote: > Does anyone have access to a printed index for the 1880 census of Washington > County?
