Notes for David Carson: David and Samuel Carson's parents moved to Washington County, VA in 1786 from Berkley Co., VA. The "History of Fayette County, Illinois" contains a biographical sketch of David and Mary Carson. It states that the Carson's left Washington County, VA on October 9, 1804, for Bartholomew Co., IN. In 1837, they moved west to Fayette Co., IL, where David homesteaded. He taught school in Indian and for many years in Illinois. All of their children were born in Washington Co., VA. David's brother Samuel and Mary's sister Margaret (who were married) also moved to Fayette Co., IL. 96ii. Dr. John E.
