Author: WayneHighsmith1961 Surnames: Roundtree, Vermillion, Fleenor Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.virginia.counties.washington/4202/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for information on the Mae Roundtree who appears in the 1930 census in the Kinderhook dist. as a maid in the employ of Nannie Vermillion (Nannie FLEENOR-Vermillion, the widow of John Wilson Vermillion). Mae Roundtree (maiden name unknown), age 60 b. abt. 1870 and is a widow. She and both parents born in Indiana. Indicated her age at time of first marriage as "21" so md. abt. 1891. She may have been a nurse to Nannie as well. QUESTION: Does anyone know of this woman? How did this Indiana woman know John and Nannie Vermillion and how/why did she make her way down to rural Virginia? Also, I've, as yet, found no trace of this woman in any other census.
