"Virginia Land Office Patents and Grants/Northern Neck Grants and Surveys" is the site I was trying to find. It's much nicer on the new site where you can also search for: - creeks ("Baker* Creek") to find various Land Grants on the creek or on the waters of the creek. - number of acres ("320 acres") such as you might find in a deed, then want to see if a Land Grant exists for the same number of acres. - a particular date ("5 january 1830"), that might be mentioned in a deed as when a Land Grant was issued. - in a particular county ("washington county"). - in a particular area ("south side of the south fork") or ("the forks"). etc. You can also find abstracts of all surveys in WC Survey Book 1 at: http://www.ls.net/~newriver/va/washsurv.htm Correction, the deed book date span on the LDS microfilm should be: 00034370 - Vol. 13-15, 1837-1842 (not 1827-1842).
