I have been in contact with a family member of Thomas Barlow who married Leah Gross, no help there. I do think Thomas and my Chaffin are brothers, if so they are the sons of Joseph Barlow and Rachel Thomas. By 1850 my Chaffin Barlow is in Casey County, Kentucky with his wife and children. Chaffin named first son George Washington Barlow, also named a son John Barlow. Chaffin first daughter Rachel Barlow. My GGGgrandfather also named a son Benjamin Barlow. Most of the names fit the naming pattern with the exception of Chaffin first son George Washington. Chaffin wife father wasn't George either. I have Chaffin and Artelia Jane marriage just list who married them. My Chaffin had a daughter Susan who died young, family member spells her middle name as Mine, I think spelling is wrong maybe Mina, same as the daughter of James and Sally Barlow you listed in your letter. I have worked on my Chaffin Barlow for years but can't get anyone in this Joseph Barlow to reply to any of my letters. I'm no Barlow expert for sure.. but Rachel Barlow who was sister to Noah Barlow (and gleaning census info appears to also be sister to Chaffin and Eliza) was either married to Charles Rogers or at least had a son by him -- Leander or "Land". I don't know if this is the same Chaffin you're referring to. Somewhere (I think Sull Co or Johnson Co, TN marriage records) I have that he married Mary J. Shaver.
