Cummings cabin in you web site, could that have been the one built in 1770 by Alex. Breckinridge? The property was sold to Cummings son-in-law, Balfour. I am dying of curiosity. And that's that, Katie<<< Katie, The picture of the Charles Cummings cabin on my website is the cabin Rev. cummings built on the land he purchased from Thomas Walker.. It stood near the large brick house which the Cummings family built in later years. The Charles Cummings land remained in the family for many years. My gggrandfather, Henry Roberts, purchased part of it before 1880.. There is a large stone house near the Cummings land but I believe it is on the old Piper land which was also purchased from Thomas Walker.. I think there is a possibility that the Breckenridge land was located on Rt. 633 west of US 19. There used to be a Breckenridge family living there.. however there was no stone house.. There is an old cabin behind the Washington co.Library, I'll get a picture of it and find out more about and put it on my website... Later, G. Lee Hearl Authentic Appalachian Storyteller Abingdon, Va.
