I've never been sure as to her real name. As I said in my previous post, family legend has it that Joel was married to a Native American woman the first time. However, when I found a record showing Joel B. Adams married to Jane F. (possibly Galliher) and three children; Mary B., Elizabeth Catherine, and Martha J.L. Adams, I was sure I had the right family. I found census records from Johnson County showing Joel and Elizabeth living in Mary's home. That discovery has allowed me to link a John Q. Adams to the family. It's allowed me to make a step closer to finding Joel's parents. Anyway, thanks for replying to my post. If I can be of any help feel free to contact me.
