I am very interested in obtaining a listing of these persons if such be available. My g-g grandfather, James Robinson, who was born 1800 came to America from northern Ireland. Family legend says he was an educated man. When he arrived from Ireland is not known, but he was in Washington Co in 1838 when he married Hannah Robinson, daughter of David & Nancy Robinson. It is not thought that they were related, but if so very distant cousins. In Nanci C. King's, 1997 "Places In Time" (South from Abingdon to the Holston) Vol. III p.23, she refers to Hannah marrying Dr. James Robinson of Ireland. I assume that he was likely a physician, but could the Dr. title refer to something other such as veterinarian or even a Doctor of Letters? I would so like to know for certain. Please contact me if you have any knowledge of these early doctors.
